1947 A Cricket Story

This is a story of a handful of Indians who had moved to Finland in the early 40's to work in the very first mobile industry in the cold scandic region..the winters were tough -30 C sometimes..but they worked hard and when the summer came they hit this wonderful idea to start playing Cricket in the summer of 1947 in a small ground in a village called karakallio..they were called the Kara Killers and they were the champions of the tournament that year defeating the hugely popular team of Helsinki Konala Kings..it was a moment to cherish but unlike these days there were no digital cameras but an old and rusty fire flash camera and they had to spend 10 Marka equal to about 50 Euros now-a-days, to get this picture done and unfortunately the huge winter storm of the 60s washed away most of the records and trophies .This picture which we accidently found in one of the storeroom in the Karkelo bar the frequented bar in those times and the tradition continues as we represent the kara killers in the year 2008...in search of more..adios
